  1. Hey Jessie, Your pictures are awesome I like them all especially the one with the pooch. They make me miss the country and the top one makes me want a beer, although it looks like white wine. I think the content of all your pictures is great, so i'll start from the top down. I really like the composition of the glass on the table to the greenery in the background. It has a very relaxed leisurely feel to it. I think it was a great choice to have the glass in the foreground in focus and the background blurred. I assume that you were on maybe a back deck or patio sipping on something and just enjoying the beauty of nature or contemplating life. Having the glass in the foreground with lip prints in the shot was a great way to define your activity. Your second photo describes your dog nicely, that big goofy smile all in focus and everything else blurred in the background puts all the attention where it should be. The perspective from where you shot is also great for the viewer because it makes it seem like they are about to pet the pup. Third photo is another great photo content wise and compositionally very neat. I like the signs facing each other with the telephone pole parting them and the huge open sky towering over the landscape makes nowhere seem very small compared to the sky blanket over head. Your self portrait reminds me of "Honey I Shrunk The Kids". Very good use of shallow depth and the grass provides a nice frame for your portrait. Well done, I believe you completed the assignment very well.

  2. Jessie, I love your photos! My favorite would have to be the one with the road signs. It's such a well-framed shot and it's interesting how the two signs are pointed at each other... I sure hope the road doesn't go like that though. I like how you can see the house in the wayyyy background, some trees and clouds more defined in the midground, then the signs and the telephone pole in the foreground really make for a nice image. I also love the dog as well, super cute, and a beautiful shot showing the differentiation between subject and background, same with the wine glass. Awesome shots!

  3. Wine, and dogs...you had me at the first two images. I lovve love love the one of the dog, so cute! but also a great close up, you did a great job not only capturing the detail of the dog but the personality of him, my favorite shot for sure, and not just because i love dogs. the picture of wine also great you really captured the glass and the surroundings reflected within the wine, its a very interesting image and framed well, im clad you set the class to the side and showed the green on the side and in the background and on the side, very interesting image. the third image is interesting also, i almost took one just like it, the clouds look amazing and you captured an interesting image. Your self portrait is great i love how green your eyes look so green compared the the grass. great job with the assignment!

  4. Hi Jessie! Again another week that I looooove your images! You choose such awesome subject matter because you're able to take something that's not always interesting or something that wouldn't normally catch someone's eye, and make it interesting. I like how you really embraced this assignment. I feel like through your images I'm able to get a good sense of your hometown. The perspective and focus in your first image is great. It's really in focus and really well-balanced from the focus of the glass and table and the green background. Overall it's a nice unified composition. Your second image has to be my favorite. Not just because I'm a dog lover because I think you absolutely captured the essence of every happy dog. It's nicely cropped so that the attention is just to the dog. The third image is great as well and works great as a large DOF. We really get a sense of the scenery and can clearly define the foreground, middleground and background. Your portrait is awesome and shot from a sweet angle. I like how even through the grass your face is still the major focus. Excellent job, you definitely completed the assignment!

  5. Hi Jessie,

Excellent work! These are your best images yet. You really made some excellent compositions. I love the curve of the table with the glass of wine? The table curve really makes this everyday item a dynamic composition. With the low depth of field, you command our eye to look at the glass and the abstract formations within the wine very interesting. technically I would have loved to have seen a little more space above the glass possibly equal to or a little bigger than your spacing at the bottom of the glass. Your second image of your dog made me smile immediately. Your dog looks like the happiest dog in the world. I really appreciated the texture of his wet nose that you revealed to us through your low depth of field great work. I also love that you took it on a slight angle which gives this photo the appropriate amount of energy as if you were bending down to pet the dog really fun. Your third picture has interesting content with the arrows. very nice exposure and large depth of field. technically I would have taken an inch off the top and have the sky and really have those arrows in the middle third. your self portrait is really neat. I see you pumped up the vibrance/saturation with that beautiful green backdrop. the two pieces of grass nicely frame your eye which really encompasses all the hues in your photo. excellent work! Keep it up!

  6. Hey Jesse! Nice pictures. I love the quality of the first shot and the use of shallow DOF to show the details of the cup and texture of the table in contrast with the dark greens in the background. The second one is a great action shot, and creates for a very powerful and playful photograph. The landscape shot shows a great use of large DOF, and I love the sharpness of every detail in the photograph, and the composition of the shot around the two signs posted. Keep up the great work!
